Sean Lindsay

On June 24th, I?ll be joining others from my company, CenturyLink, in a cycling event ? www.pedaling4parkinsons.org (P4P) ? to benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson?s Research. P4P will be held in Lone Tree, Colorado, and includes rides of various distances for all levels of ability and interest.

I?m in the somewhat odd position of being both a supporter of the event as well as a beneficiary of the project ? a person with Parkinson?s disease. I was diagnosed in 2014. Cycling is one of a handful of activities that (for some of us) can reduce the symptoms of Parkinson?s for some of us for hours or days afterwards. In fact, it?s one of the few activities I can engage in and feel almost normal.

Each year, the disease makes it harder to keep up my pursuit of sometimes excessive fitness goals, but while I'm scaling back, I'm not stopping.

Please consider whether there is space in your charitable donation budget to include support for the cause. If you?d like to join me for the ride, I?d be delighted to have the company.
